PRU EMail List Servers (open)

The PRU maintains four (4) open email list servers through Yahoo!Groups, a service of Yahoo! You can subscribe to any/all of these groups. The list name below is followed by a brief description and the name of the list owner. The list owner generally approves membership, though the qualifications are fairly loose.

Multiple officers of each club are advised to subscribe to the "potomacrugby" list, and if college, HS, or Youth, to one of the group-specific lists. Most PRU communications are sent via email, with only some transient information making it to the web site, and possibly long-term useful information eventually being posted. Email is the immediate mode of communication, and only to these lists, not to your personal email addresses (which change too often to keep track of).

You can subscribe to a list by sending a blank email from your preferred email address to listname-subscribe@yahoogroups.com

You can UNsubscribe from a list by sending a blank email from the email address that you no longer want to receive mail to listname-unsubscribe@yahoogroups.com

Use of EMail Lists
The use of the PRU email list servers is generally not restricted. To date, we have had no problems with list abuse (unwanted or inappropriate email or inappropriate language). We prefer to keep it that way. Email list etiquette is usually well-known and can be found at any number of web sites (eg, this one).
