Potomac Athletic Club
The Potomac Athletic Club Rugby Team (PAC Rugby) of Washington, D.C., is one of the top ranked rugby union football clubs in North America. We are a founding member of the USA RUGBY SUPER LEAGUE, the 16-club national competition for elite American rugby clubs.
A perennial in the national club championship playoffs, and former national champions; PAC has established itself as a premier club in the United States and one of the most successful teams in the nation, with players frequently selected to play for national, and regional representative sides.
PAC traces its origin to the George Washington and Sudamericano rugby football clubs founded in 1967 and 1969 respectively. In 1988 these two teams merged to form the Potomac Athletic Club. In 1993, a mere 5 years after forming, PAC made their first appearance in the national final four, finishing 3rd. In 1995 PAC returned to the final four and won the USA Men's Division 1 National Championship.

Semper Progredi
Founded in 1973 by military members of Western Potomac RFC assigned to Headquarters Marine Corps or stationed in the greater Washington D.C. area, the team was originally titled “Quantico/Henderson Hall” Rugby Football Club. Currently, the Quantico “Hooligans” Rugby Football Club (QRFC) consists primarily of Active-Duty/Reserve Marines and U.S. Navy personnel assigned to Marine Corps Base Quantico, augmented by civilians who work aboard base and from the local community. Registered with the national governing body, USA Rugby, QRFC competes in the Potomac Rugby Union (PRU) Senior Men’s Division III, which includes clubs in the District of Columbia, Virginia, Maryland, and Pennsylvania. Rugby is a Marine Corps varsity sport, and QRFC provides the opportunity for eligible Marines to participate in the All-Marine trial camp for possible selection to the All-Marine rugby team, which competes each Fall against representative teams from our sister-services at the annual Armed Forces/Inter-Service Championship. QRFC also competes each Spring in the National Military Club Championships against other military rugby clubs from bases/stations throughout the U.S. and overseas. QRFC regularly fields a 7’s team during the summer months. Past successes have found the “Hooligans” securing the PRU Division III Championship in 2003, and 2005. The club welcomes new/veteran players, regardless of experience and skill level. And, in the spirit of the command motto, "Semper Progredi"--always forward, QRFC strives to introduce the sport to interested players, provide a foundation for support to the varsity All-Marine rugby team and allow for continued athletic competition coupled with spirited camaraderie.

Western Suburbs Rugby Football Club (Suburbs) was formed in 1976 by a group of ruggers who broke off from Sud Americano Rugby Football Club. These ruggers desired to practice and play rugby closer to their homes in the western portion of Fairfax County.
Through many heated meetings, it was decided that Suburbs would be the senior club and Reston was selected for games and practices. Uniforms and colors were still a problem. Suburbs sported as many as three different jerseys on the 15-man side. However, it was the selection of Reston that would mark the beginning of the transition of Suburbs to a highly organized and successful rugby club.
