The spring AGM will be held on February 4, 2012 at Georgetown Prep starting at noon. This is a mandatory meeting and we will be taking a roll call prior to the start of the meeting. There are several major agenda items that will be discussed which will require a quorum to vote on. I will be sending a full agenda, but the major topics of conversation will include:
-
A discussion and vote on the State Based Rugby Organizations (SBRO) which will affect the youth and HS programs.
-
A discussion and a vote on the Geographic Unions (GU’s) which will affect all men’s and women’s clubs.
-
Vote on the 2012 budget – of note, we spent a fair amount of time reviewing the previous year’s allocations, especially the all-star budgets, and have reallocated or removed much of these costs. I will be sending our proposed budget within the week for all clubs to review.
-
A discussion and possible vote on the bylaws. Over the past few months we have reviewed the bylaws and found a number of inconsistencies within the document itself and some inconsistencies between the document and our actual practice.
The above topics will absolutely change the union as we know it, I can’t stress enough the importance of every club having some representative there. We will be providing food and beverages.

 | | As a reminder, ALL clubs are required to submit a P2P form prior to the start of each Fall and Spring season. Please take care of this ASAP. Without a P2P form submitted and approved your club may not be allocated refs and will be not in good standing.

Fall 2011 is right around the corner - please take care of your admin items now: CIPP registration, P2P forms, PRU and referee dues. All of these items must be taken care of prior to your first league match.

 | | USA Rugby Referees’ management has established guidelines to refereeing at all levels in USA Rugby. These guidelines enable players and referees to have a clearer approach to the game, to enable consistency in Law application throughout the country. They also reflect directives from the iRB, particularly in relation to the tackle/ruck, and players staying on their feet.
NOTE: On page 9, A. Pulling the Maul down. This paragraph does not apply to HS/U19 and younger. HS/U19 and younger age grades are NOT ALLOWED to pull the maul down.
